We're getting married!

Madison had heard countless stories about her brother’s friend Rob long before they met, so when she finally traveled to Utah in May 2021, she was curious to match a face to the name. Rob broke the ice immediately, greeting her with, “So I’m told I’m supposed to marry you in exchange for an ox and two chickens, according to your brother.” The entire week was filled with jokes and laughter about this bizarre bargain, but eventually Madison had to fly back to Ohio, leaving the humor—and Rob—behind. A year passed, though the memory of that visit never faded. Madison had begun searching for jobs in Utah, hoping to be closer to her brothers, and perhaps curious about what might happen if she and Rob crossed paths again. In May 2022, she landed a position, conveniently just one week before another trip to visit family…and hopefully see Rob. This time, the reunion felt different. Madison arrived with the exciting news of her move, and Rob decided it was finally appropriate to ask her on a real date. One date turned into many, and now—years later—they’re getting married. No livestock has changed hands, but Madison’s brother still claims he’s owed an ox and two chickens.
