Robert and I met for the first time in high school, on the bus in the morning. I was just starting ninth grade, and knew I had never seen him before so I introduced myself. He told me he moved to Bow this past year, and was in 10th grade. Other than a few sentences spoken and Hello’s exchanged, we never bonded throughout high school, being apart of different crowds. Fast forward to the summer of my senior year, my best friend and I ended up at his house, hanging out with a bigger group of friends. I didn’t see him again after that until a few months before graduating NHTI with my Associates. Rob and I both couldn’t tell you how it happened, or when it really happened, but all it seemed to take was a day. 24 hours tops to go from passing by one another every couple of years, to rarely ever leaving each other’s side. We would share stories from high school, and realize we were both there in that moment for them, without even realizing we were in the same room, or that said person was also the other persons friend. That is what the invisible string means to us. We were always somehow connected by people, places or things, but we didn’t fully come together until it was the right time. Robert proposed to me in the comfort of our apartment (thank god, for those of you who know me super well, you know I would rather eat nails than have the spotlight). It was a tricky task for him to not spoil what he had been planning, he basically spoiled everything besides what the ring looked like and when exactly he would be doing it. Robert and I are equally horrible at keeping a surprise, it’s honestly concerning. We had the best night FaceTiming our friends and loved ones, despite lots of people saw it coming for a bit. We are both so excited to share our special day with you all, and couldn’t be more thankful that our paths in life lead us to one another and all the wonderful people we’ve known and met along the way :)
