Madison and Nick went on their first date a little over 3 year ago! They both went to Jacksonville State University and surprisingly never formally met. They had many mutual friends and attended so many of the same events and somehow their paths crossed so many times but never really noticed one another. Fast forward a few years after graduating (Madison was in her third year of teaching and Nick was on a deployment) and her and her momma traveled to NYC to visit family. Madison shared a photo of herself sightseeing around the city and Nick sent her a message. He was working at the time in New York and asked her out on a date. Unfortunately, she had already flown home and the date didn’t happen. They connected over the phone for a few months and planned to spend the upcoming New Year’s weekend in Gatlinburg. They met for dinner the night before and the next morning, headed to Tennessee. It was the best weekend that they had wished lasted forever. Nick flew home that week and they made plans for Madison to fly back to NYC for the date that he had originally asked her on a two months later. When the time came for her to fly home, she remembers asking herself (why are you are crying telling this man goodbye at the airport?). Little did they know that their story was only just beginning. Nicholas proposed to Madison this past July in the El Yunque National Rainforest in Puerto Rico.
