It all started when we were at our Mistletoe Ball. Mistletoe Ball was a dance where the girls and guys both dressed up in dresses and ties. Everyone was on the dance floor, dancing and having a good time and taking pictures. And I just so happened to have my phone out taking pictures as well, and Martin popped his head in there and I took a picture with him. Then, 5 days later on December 11, 2014 I sent him the picture. The story goes on.....
Before the date, I was very excited. I was getting myself all prettied up to go see a movie and get dinner. Then, I was patiently waiting for Martin to pick me up. I look outside and there his truck is in front of my house. My mom wanted to wait until he came to the front door to meet him. So I waited for 5-10 minutes and got slightly impatient. His truck was no longer in front of my house and I remember saying to my mom that I think he ditched me. 15-20 minutes go by, and finally he is at my front door. He then proceeds to tell me that he went to the neighbors house. He knocked on the neighbors door, they opened the door, and welcomed him in, he sat down and they began talking to him. After a few minutes go by without him seeing me anywhere, he asks "Where is Madison?" They began asking "who?" So then, the neighbors realized he was supposed to be at my house. Come to find out, the neighbors were expecting someone at their house that same evening that they didn't know. It has made quite a funny story since then and we all laugh about it.
Our anniversary on dating was coming up, and it is on Christmas Eve. There isn't many places open on Christmas Eve, so we normally celebrate our anniversary a few days before. So usually when we celebrate, we exchange anniversary gifts. He sat a chair in front of the Christmas tree and put his phone on the TV stand. I asked why, and he told me that his gift to me was pretty lame and he wanted to make sure to record it so I would hold my reaction and not be disappointed. So I was thinking to myself... 'ok, whatever... mine is much worse.' I gave him his gift first, which was super lame and I made him record his reaction to on the TV stand. It was a picture of us in front of the Christmas tree, with our dogs. Super lame, but he had a good Christmas gift a few days later! So, I then sat down and he gave me this big box that was super light. I opened it... it was another box.... I opened it.... it was another box.... then I found a piece of paper. So I started thinking to myself, 'concert tickets?' So, then I opened it and it was a note, he told me to read it out loud. He wrote in the note how much he loved me, and how he wanted to spend forever with me. And after I was finished reading, I said "Oh, honey. I love you so much." Then he gets down on one knee, and pulls out the ring and asks me to marry him. I couldn't believe it. I was crying, laughing, just lots of emotions. And I said YES!!!!!
