A few summers ago I (Madi) went to one of my friends houses because she was having a small party. I was scared to go because I didn’t know many of her friends but decided i’ll go for an hour or so. First thing when I walked in some guy I went to high school with said “do you want to shotgun a twisted tea?” and how could I turn that down so I said yes and did it and now we are celebrating us getting married. Below is a picture of us that first night we met.
I (Landon) had a plan to propose to Madi at the Oregon zoo lights, my brother Lucas and his girlfriend Tyler came with us. I gave Tyler the ring to hold on to and we started walking through the light show. My original plan was to propose in front of a wall of lights that I would often see people take pictures in front of but once we got there it did not feel right so we kept walking. We walked for a while until I saw a wall of lights that legitimately said will you marry me? I knew that was the perfect spot I immediately grabbed the ring from Tyler and told Madi that we should take a picture in front of it…. Madi was not too crazy about that and planted herself in the crowd. After a few seconds of encouragement and physically pulling her to me she came up and I took her hands and started reciting my proposal speech. Almost immediately she started saying “babe stop joking” and “oh my gosh wouldn’t it be funny if you were actually proposing”. She pulled away back into the crowd and so I had to stop her and tell her “honey I have a ring in my pocket right now”. She reaches into both pockets and pulls out the box, her jaw hit the floor. We went back up to the display and I took her hands and recited part of what I was planning to say, I had forgotten most of it because she flustered the hell out of me. But in the end I dropped to one knee and popped the question it was an almost immediate yes. And by that point we had a crowd watching us and they all cheered and clapped. It was a memorable moment to say the very least. If you look through our gallery you can find a picture of us during the engagement.
