We're getting Married!

Thanks to our mutual love of music and family, every Tuesday the two of us would venture to the same little cafe to enjoy some local music and $2 tacos with our folks. Over the months our families struck a friendship and joined tables. Lance and I, as a result, would sit at the same table and awkwardly sneak glances and make small talk until we eventually caught on to some major chemistry that every one else had already noticed. We developed a friendship for months after that until, as he says, I “tricked” him into our first date. Friendship quickly caught fire and grew into love, it wasn’t long before we realized we really had something here.

I had planned a little birthday pool party for Lance, he’s never been super big on his birthday but I felt strongly that he deserved to relax and be celebrated for the day! Little did I know, he had plans of his own. Knowing me and my nosey ways, he knew he had to be very careful with this surprise. He figured a day meant to be all about him would be the perfect opportunity to catch me off guard, he was right! He began opening up his presents while I looked on and took pictures. The rest of the party was mingling amongst themselves and half paying attention. After a while, Lance looked down at one last little bag left where the presents had been stacked “oh, this ones for you” he said. Naturally, I figured he was messing with me and I hesitantly began opening the gift. Inside was a scrapbook full of pictures of him and I, our families, our adventures and beside each one were hand written notes telling our story. My hands started to shake with excitement as the party began to catch on with me, he had only told one other person his plan, so everyone else was just as surprised as me! I get to the end of the scrapbook where he had written out the famous question. I turn, and there he is, down on one knee. I say yes, of course and we were officially engaged!

We are so excited to be getting married. We love you all so much, and it means the world to us to have all of our favorite people there to celebrate with us! Please make sure to bring your dancing shoes, and your favorite stories, we intend to dance and reminisce the night away! See you at the Inn!!
