You can fly into Paris and take a high-speed train to Bordeaux, or fly directly into Bordeaux Airport (BOD). From Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion is a 30-minute train ride or a 45-minute drive. We recommend renting a car, as taxi and rideshare services in Saint-Émilion are very limited.

There are a number of beautiful hotels and accommodations in and around Saint-Émilion. Please refer to our hotel page on the site for more info. Avoid booking in Bordeaux as it's about 45 minutes away from the venue and not ideal for traveling back and forth between events. We recommend booking early, as the area is small and fills quickly. Staying in the village offers the most walkability, while nearby countryside properties provide a quieter, more scenic experience.
Saint-Émilion is a small, historic wine village— so a bit of planning ahead will make your experience even more enjoyable. Reservations are key: We recommend booking any lunch, dinner, or wine tastings in advance (2–3 months ahead is ideal). Dining is an experience: Many restaurants offer prix-fixe menus, and meals are meant to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Plan your day around meals: Restaurants serve during set hours, so it’s helpful to organize your day accordingly. Getting around: A rental car is the easiest way to explore wineries and nearby areas. Walking the village: The town is very walkable, though parking is typically just outside the center.

For travel to France, passports must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date, though many airlines require 6 months of validity. As our wedding weekend is in early June, we recommend ensuring your passport is valid through December 2027 or later to avoid any issues with travel. U.S. citizens do not currently need a visa for short visits to France (under 90 days). Travel requirements can evolve, so we recommend checking guidelines closer to your trip. If you're planning to rent a car, an International Driving Permit is highly recommended. It acts as the official translation of your license for police in case of a traffic stop or accident. You can easily acquire one at AAA.
Due to the intimate nature of our wedding weekend, we’re only able to accommodate those guests formally listed on your invitation. If a plus-one has been extended to you, it will be indicated on your invitation or RSVP. This will be an adults-only celebration. We truly appreciate your understanding and are so excited to celebrate with you.
Early June in Bordeaux is typically warm, sunny, and ideal for outdoor celebrations. Average daytime temperatures range from 75–77°F (24–25°C), with evenings cooling to around 55–59°F (13–15°C). While June is generally beautiful, occasional light rain is possible so a small umbrella is never a bad idea. You may want to bring a light jacket or wrap for the evenings.
We’re planning to host a stateside celebration following our wedding for those who are unable to join us in France. More details will be shared in the coming months.
