Josh and Madison met while they were both assigned as TAs for an introductory chemistry class. Madison walked into the classroom seconds before it started and sat in the front row right next to the professor. Josh immediately thought, “Wow… teacher’s pet.” A moment later the professor introduced Madison as one of the new TAs, and Josh immediately thanked God because this TA was way too cute. After class, Josh struck up a conversation about life, school, and the general chaos of post-grad plans. Over the next few weeks Madison, being as forward as ever, started dropping hints. Josh, being as clueless as ever, kept thinking, “There’s no way this girl is single,” and assumed that was just her personality. Fast forward to Valentine’s Day. After class ended late, Josh found out Madison had been walking through Hurt Park alone to get to her car. For the non-Atlantans reading this, it is not exactly the safest area. So he offered to walk her out. On the way he casually asked what her Valentine’s Day plans were, and Madison said she was single and had a date planned with refrigerated chocolate. Josh could not believe his luck and immediately asked for her number. Not long after, Josh asked Madison what her favorite Girl Scout cookies were. At the next TA session he secretly slipped a box into her backpack, assuming she would not find them until later. Instead she found them immediately. That was the moment Madison really started to fall for him. Eventually Josh worked up the courage to ask Madison out to the Marietta Diner, a place she had been hyping up for weeks while also insisting it might secretly be a front for the mob. That first date lasted nearly three hours before the staff started hinting that it was time to leave. Even then they sat in the car talking for another hour. In the months that followed, Josh willingly destroyed his sleep schedule to stay up talking with Madison while she worked hospital night shifts. Somewhere along the way it became obvious that what they had was something special. Meeting the parents was the final test. Madison’s parents immediately loved Josh, possibly more than Madison since he is a professional brown-noser. Josh’s family welcomed Madison with open arms and were happy to add another lovable crazy to the mix. Since then, Josh and Madison have spent their time celebrating weddings, going to concerts, becoming honorary aunt and uncle to friends’ kids, and figuring out life together. Now they are excited to start their next chapter as husband and wife.
