Like every office romance, Josh and Maddie's began with a water cooler and a cup of stale coffee. Kidding. Their story is one of missed encounters, shy glances across the lunchroom, and a Christmas Party introduction worthy of a Hallmark movie. Timid and sweet, Josh awed over Maddie from afar, telling his entire department of his new crush but too awkward to sit with her at lunch. Maddie, oblivious to these feelings, almost let Josh slip away after numerous set-up attempts by co-workers and an accidental swipe left. Lucky for us all, fate--and some very persistent friends--brought these two together for the first of many epic dates.

Though Covid struck after Josh finally made a move, some might say it made their first date even more special. Forced to text and talk on the phone for months, Maddie and Josh met up for the first time for a spring-time picnic lunch that turned into the best, and longest, first date they ever had.

Josh's proposal to Maddie is one for the books. Always the planner, he sneakily met with her sisters to design a ring and organize a secret vacation surprise. As Josh and Maddie drove south for their annual family trip, she had no idea her parents and sisters were mere hours behind her, ready to crash the Miller family vacay and celebrate the engagement as one big family. When the time finally came, Josh casually suggested a walk on the beach. Oblivious to Josh's odd and untimely request for exercise, she followed him to the water while her family snuck inside the beach house and joined the Millers as they snooped from the back patio. Maddie, rambling on about the science of driftwood, turned to see her boyfriend, now down on one knee with a stunning emerald ring in his hand. The rest is a blur (seriously, they both blacked out from nerves) but the celebration waiting inside was the cherry on top of a perfect proposal.
