When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Final invitations will be sent out in Spring of 2026! RSVPs will be due three weeks before the wedding (Saturday, May 9th).

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Doors to the Science Center of Iowa will open at 6:00 pm! Our ceremony will begin at 6:15 in the second-level planetarium, so please plan to arrive promptly.

Is there parking?

Answer

Guests staying at the Des Lux Hotel may park their cars in the city parking garage across from the hotel for $10/day. Our venue is within walking distance of the hotel. The Science Center also offers garage parking ($4 for the first hour, with an additional $1/hour). Free street parking may be available in a limited capacity.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want you to be comfortable, so bring your dancing shoes and business casual attire. Dresses, dressy separates, dress shirts with khakis or other lightweight slacks (no jeans), are perfect! Jackets and ties are welcome but optional. Our dance floor will be in the planetarium and will feature a carpet floor. Please plan shoes accordingly!

Can I bring a date?

While we'd love to celebrate with everyone, we are only able to extend plus-ones to a select number of guests. If "+Guest' appears next to your name on the invitation, a plus-one is welcome!

What's the bar situation?

Answer

Two drink tickets per person will be provided on us! After drink tickets are cashed in, we will have a cash bar with beer and wine ranging from $5-7 and cocktails and mixed drinks ranging from $7-9.
