Maid of Honor
Sister of the bride - A.K.A. the best gift I ever received (no seriously, she was born on my third birthday). Senah (Sane-uh) is a source of seemingly unending joy and warmth. I like to think she taught me how to be an older sister more than I could have been for her.
Best Man
Friend since kindergarten - From the simple things in life like enjoying video games and sports to discussing the more complex things in life like spiritual ideologies, current relationships, and career pursuits, Andrew has been there for me through it all. A lot has changed over the last 20+ years, but I have been grateful to have a friend like Andrew throughout.
Bridesmaid
Sister-in-law of the bride (but let's be real, she's really a sister, the "in-law" is simply a formality). Jenna brings a sense of exuberance balanced with depth to her life. As happy as I am for my brother to have Jenna, I more selfishly just thankfully to him for bringing her into my life.
Groomsman
Cousin of the groom- Born only 8 days apart, we have been friends from the start. There has not been a time in my life where Mitch was not one of my closest friends. It's rare to have someone play a significant role in your entire life on Earth, but Mitch has been that for me to this point and I can not see that changing for as long as we both live.
Bridesmaid
Sister of the groom: Her being 18 months younger in age but only 1 year in school, led to some good sibling battles growing up. But as life goes on, I have grown in ever increasing appreciation to have someone with Maggie's heart, mind and spirt as a sister and friend.
Groomsman
Cousin of the groom- Once just the annoying little cousin, Jake has become another solid rock in my life. As we have grown up so has our friendship. Jake's faith, family values and service to his community is a driving factor in our closeness and serves an inspiration to do the same.
Bridesmaid
Friend from church - I partially owe this day to Mary. I couldn't have gotten through the felt hopelessness of online dating without her support, encouragement, and humor. This is a friend who knows both how to celebrate and how to lament with you regardless of her position in life.
Groomsman
Brother of the bride - Being only 15 months my senior, Aidan still has been a solid example of an older brother. He forged the way through high school, college, and adult life providing me with a steadfast example of how to maneuver this complex world with a heart of faith and an attitude of grace.
Bridesmaid
Friend from college/Young Life co-leader - You can't help but be deep friends with someone you've served the Lord alongside for so long. Our time leading together taught me mess is inevitable but more than worthwhile. Sarah is an authentic friend who doesn't shy from the truth and the importance of it.
Groomsman
Brother of the bride - Tanner brings the phrase "still waters run deep" to life. He demonstrates a deep sense of family commitment and respect for those around him. Despite being the youngest, Tanner has always shown integrity, intellect, and wisdom beyond his years.
Bridesmaid
Friend from college - Our friendship started in the most unassuming of places, the freshman dorm stairwell, yet has proven to withstand much. Lindsay was a constant friend through college and beyond. Her loyalty, intentionality, and candid sense of humor kept me encouraged and steady through the years.
Groomsman
Friends since middle school- Though we have been friends since middle school, our brotherhood really started in High School. Youth group every Sunday and hanging out every Friday eventually became a given. Though it has been difficult to stay connected over the years since then, every time we do reconnect, it feels like one of those Friday nights once again.
Bridesmaid
Friend from college - This friendship was forged through the trials of our major in college. Emma offered herself as an ever present listening ear and voice of wisdom through it all. Her support extended beyond college when she opened her home and family to me when I needed a place to live.
Groomsman
World Race Friend- When I graduated college, I had the privilege of doing international missions work for a year. Throughout that year, Ethan became someone I consistently sought advice and guidance from. He was an integral part of my life in one of the most transformative times of my life and I could not be more appreciative of that.
Father of the Bride/Officiant
AKA Jefe ("Boss") - Through my years growing up as a missionary and pastor's kid, my dad never failed to model and teach that, in all things, Christ must come first. His conviction in the Gospel and faith in Jesus is something he not only preaches, but lives by passionately in both his professional and personal life. I can only hope to emulate a fraction of the parent/spouse that he is.
Father of the Groom
AKA FOG: From being the one kindergartner in my class (and maybe ever) who wanted to grow up to be a mortgage broker, to wanting to be a "little daddy" for halloween one year, my dad has always been and continues to be a source of inspiration. How well he loves and serves, his wife, his kids and his community is a legacy I hope to live up to.
Mother of the Bride
AKA Maj ("Her Majesty")- A faithful servant behind the scenes, my mom has been one of the strongest examples in my life of how to serve the Lord in all you do. From a young age, she instilled in us a heart for God and his commands not simply through Bible lessons in homeschooling but through her own dedication to reading the Bible and praying and bringing those commitments to life through her service. I, again, can only hope to emulate a fraction of the parent/spouse that she is.
Mother of the Groom
AKA MOG: The unconditional, patient and relentless love and care my mom shows to me and to everyone else in her life is 2nd only to God Himself. I don't know how she does it, but I do know I am beyond blessed to have been raised by such a mother.
Ring Bearer
Nephew(ish) of the groom- Luka is Jake & Mariana Kurtz's son. Growing up my cousins felt like brothers and sisters, therefore we are claiming him as a nephew and are super excited to have him be a part of the wedding party.
