John and Madison initially met online while using the dating app "Hinge." Their first date was in Charlotte, where they finally got to meet in person. At the time, John lived in Spartanburg SC, but had a feeling the 1.5 hour drive was worth it to officially meet Madison. This date consisted of pizza and a game night. On Christmas Day of December 2022, Madison had invited John over to her family's Christmas festivities, which made her realize how much she cared for him. They made their dating story official that same day. Soon after, John found out he was accepted into UNCC to work toward his Bachelor's Degree in Fire Safety Engineering. Madison had just begun her career of being a doctor of physical therapy in the greater Charlotte area. In December of 2025, John proposed at their favorite spot at the top of the Roan Mountain family estates, and she said yes! With so many special memories created in the past few Decembers, the couple decided it would be significant to begin their life together as husband and wife in the same holiday season that it all began. They look forward to spending this quality time celebrating with close family and friends.
