A ~15 minute drive from the airport, Pacifica will not disappoint as a first stop in Cali. Check out the Pacifica State Beach... and maybe a quick run into the "world's nicest Taco Bell" directly on the sand! There are several beautiful vista points to stroll or hike as well.
Continue up the PCH to see Ocean State Beach, the city's very own sandy shore where we'll occasionally meet up with friends for a nighttime bonfire (and if you're looking for another gorgeous beach check out Baker Beach with killer views of the Golden Gate Bridge)! A few blocks from Ocean Beach is a local favorite seafood joint called Hook Fish Co - get the fish and chips, crab cakes, or tacos and you won't regret it!
End your SF PCH journey at Point Lobos / Lands End Lookout. Walk the paths amongst the amazing trees over to the Sutro Baths – especially gorgeous (but often windy) around sunset!
If you're spending any time in the city, we highly recommend a morning stop at Arsicault Bakery for THE BEST croissants you may ever taste – don't shy away from the often long line out the door, it moves fast and is oh so worth it.
Make your way over to our side of the city and checkout the famous Ferry Building for views of the Bay Bridge and tons of great vendors inside. We love grabbing a bite at the Hog Island Oyster Co for seafood or Gott's Roadside for a burger and shake!
As you make your way up to Sonoma make sure you take the route over the Golden Gate Bridge – just cross your fingers that Karl the Fog is off duty so you can see the magnificent red arches. Drive, bike, or walk across the bridge and take in the sweeping views.
Our absolute all time favorite hike (Kai agrees) – we've probably done it >25 times! It's about 4-5 miles depending on which loop you do (although you can make it shorter by turning around early as it's an out and back). There's a bit of a challenging beginning (relatively steep switchback steps from the parking lot up to the trail head for the first mile but not too bad if you take it slow) and then is a relatively flat trail that rewards you with the most spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay, and the city! PRO TIP: Stop by the Joinery in Sausalito after the hike for a fried chicken sandwich, beer, and views – you've earned it!
One of our favorite spots to meet up with friends for a tailgate in the Jeep, for frequent dolphin sightings while walking the beach, and for a quintessential California sunset.
A picturesque vineyard with views over the rolling Sonoma hills and vines – and neighbors to our Cornerstone wedding venue!
An amazing winery with a very impressive art collection. Sip your wine while strolling amongst the installations across the property! Advance reservations required.
Not into vino? Not to worry! Check out this Sonoma distillery for handcrafted local vodka tastings instead.
Once you've made it up to Sonoma, treat yourself to breakfast at this amazing cafe – we recommend sitting out on the back patio amongst the flowers!
We love dinner at the girl & the fig after a long day of tastings or exploring!
