We met in November of 2018 on a blind date set up by Lizzy and Nathan Garlock. Isaac and Lizzy attended high school together in Maryland. Our first date was an evening at the BYU Museum of Art, exploring their ceramics exhibit. At the time, we were both in our senior year of college and began dating long distance between Provo, Utah, and Rexburg, Idaho. As we talked about the future, we realized that the timing wasn’t right. After graduation, we decided to go our separate ways—Isaac was planning to move back east to the Washington, D.C. area, and Madison moved to Utah for work. Six years passed, and Isaac couldn’t shake the feeling that if circumstances had been different, he and Madison would have worked out. Little did Madison know, Isaac had been thinking about her all along. So when he texted her on May 4, 2025, asking if she could show him around Seattle the next day, she was completely surprised. They met outside the Amazon Spheres and spent a lovely evening together—enjoying seafood at Duke’s, watching the sunset at Kerry Park, strolling along the Seattle pier, and catching up over lava cakes. It was one of those nights that felt undeniably special. After that evening, we talked on the phone every day and decided to give it another shot on May 31, 2025. We quickly fell in love and have been navigating long distance between Seattle, Utah, and Phoenix ever since. We are so excited to spend eternity together.
