As two Ph.D. graduate students, neither of us really had the time to go out and meet people the old-fashioned way. Thanks to the wonders of the Internet (and a few dating apps), we both swiped right and were brought together the Tinder way (as Hayden likes to put it)!

After purchasing the ring, Hayden could bear the stress of waiting longer than 24 hours. While Madison was cooking, he decided he couldn't take it anymore, looked at her and very seriously said, "I have to do something" before walking. Unsure what in the world was happening, Madison followed him to the bedroom, where Hayden proceeded to speak through tears and what could be described as pure gibberish. It took several moments of Madison staring at him in confusion for her to realize the ring in his hand as Hayden choked out, "Will you marry me?" She of course said "Yes" only for them to recreate the whole thing a week later at their friends Thanksgiving dinner anyway!
