As much as I hate to admit it, Hall and I met in a very "millennial" way. My roommate at the time, Hannah Grace, convinced me to sign up for Bumble, which was a popular dating app. I was about to move home to Charlotte after graduating from N.C. State in May of 2016, but she convinced me it would be fun to go on some dates before moving home. She told me her cousin had met her future husband on Bumble and that it "really works!". I sat on the couch that night with her, and we swiped left and right to different guys. I knew in my head that I was never going to go on a date with someone I didn't know, but I knew it made Hannah Grace happy. That night I matched with a guy named Hall, and the rest is history! It took him two weeks and many nights talking on the phone to finally convince me to go on a date with him. I noticed we had mutual friends, so I asked those mutual friends about him. They said he was super sweet and a great guy, and that I should give him a chance. Once I realized he WASN'T a serial killer, I told him I would go on a date with him, but that I would be bringing my other roommate, Ann, with me. We went to Raleigh Beer Garden, where we ordered the same light beer- Red Oak (1st good sign), and then went to The Point, which was our favorite bar (2nd good sign). Over the next few weeks we hung out a lot, and I waited until the night before I moved back to Charlotte to tell him I was moving. I figured we would stop talking once I moved, so I wanted to make the most of the time we had! Surprisingly, we continued to talk after I moved home and eventually started dating in October of 2016. In 2017, I moved back to Raleigh to get my Masters from N.C. State, which gave us more time to really get to know each other and fall in love even more! I joked with friends that I would some day marry this guy, and here we are!
