Let's set the scene: It's May 11, 2013 at the World Trade Center in Portland. Our senior prom, the last big party before graduation. We danced and laughed the night away with our friends without a care in the world. As 11 pm nears and prom our night draws to an end the DJ plays one last, slow dance song; Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. We begin our dance and as we sway to the beat we lock eyes. It was then after 8 months of friendship we shared our first kiss. We started the night out as friends but ended it as a real deal couple (as "real deal" as you can get in high school anyways).
If it is meant to be, it will be. After over seven years of dating we decided it was about time to tie the knot. One day, Garrett came home with a “big secret”. I asked him EVERDAY for three weeks what his secret was and I guess he finally gave in. It was just like any typical night for us, so in Garrett’s mind that was the perfect time to propose. I would never expect it. It was about 10pm when he ran upstairs. When he came back down, he laid down on the couch behind me. Next thing I know there is a beautiful ring right in front of me. Long story short, he asked and I said yes!
