Like all great love stories, ours began with… ice cream. Back in 2018, a mutual friend introduced us, and we went out for a casual sweet treat. We exchanged social media handles, probably thought, Hey, this person seems cool, and then proceeded to fall out of touch for a long, long time. Classic. Fast forward to August 20th 2022 (I which also happens to be my birthday, so fate was definitely working overtime), I randomly commented on one of Evan’s incredible hiking photos. That one little comment set off a chain reaction, and before we knew it, we were planning our first date. Ah, our first date… a truly memorable experience. Not because of the romance, the ambiance, or the candlelit magic—no, no. Because the food was absolutely terrible. Like, Did we just get pranked? bad. But somehow, between the awful entrées and questionable service, we ended up talking for three hours, laughing, and realizing we actually really liked each other. So, naturally, we decided to give it another shot. One bad dinner turned into a second date. Then a third. Then a fourth. Soon, I met his amazing daughter, and before we knew it, we were basically inseparable. Eight months later, we moved in together—because clearly, neither of us were running for the hills (except for Evan, but only for actual hiking). Then, on February 17, 2025, Evan got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. Spoiler alert: I said yes! And now, here we are—preparing to say “I do” and celebrate with all of you. We can’t wait to eat good food this time, dance, and make even more unforgettable memories!
