Eric and Maddie’s story starts where all good love stories begin… high school spring break. They went to rival high schools and were introduced at the beach sophomore year by their mutual friend (now bridesmaid) Caroline. The two became fast friends — attending football games, parties, and backyard bonfires together. Eric remembers Maddie as being “cute and funny” and Maddie was drawn to Eric’s charm and wit. Their friendship was further solidified when Eric asked Maddie to go to his senior year homecoming dance. As expected, the two had a magical time under the fluorescent lights of the Chamblee High School gymnasium. Senior year came and went and the two recall exchanging the news that they’d both be headed to the University of Georgia that fall. While still just friends at the time, they felt excited to take on college together. College brought new friends and memories for the each of them, but one thing remained — their natural draw towards one another. Freshman through senior year, the two hung out at tailgates, befriended each other’s new friends, and went on countless sorority/fraternity date nights together. Something finally clicked in their last semester of college. They realized there was a reason they were each other’s go to date and there was a reason they were still drawn to each other after all those years. They officially started dating a few weeks before graduation. As one chapter came to a close, another one began. And once again, Eric and Maddie entered a new phase of life together. This time — adulthood! The couple navigated everything the real world held and did some more growing up, side by side. In October of 2024, Eric popped the question in the same spot the two took Chamblee Homecoming pictures 10 years prior. He planned the perfect proposal followed by a surprise party with their family and friends. 12 years of friendship and 6 years of dating later, Eric and Maddie are beyond excited to finally tie the knot and ring in the new year as a married couple, celebrating with all of you!
