We met on another at our high school's marching band camp in 2016. We were both trumpet players with sarcastic senses of humor and easily became friends. Throughout the school year, we were able to strengthen our friendship. In the spring of 2017, we went on our first date to Apple Bee's and the movies. On May 6th, 2017, we became a couple and have been together ever since.

On a family trip, we decided to visit the beach in the evening to walk and find shells. After a while of running around with the family and competing to find the biggest shell, Dylan tapped Maddie on the shoulder and when she turned around, he got down on one knee. Dylan said, "Maddie, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" And of course she said yes. Then she cried happy tears. A lot of happy tears.
