As many of you know, Davis and I went to the same high school. Every year Male puts on a powderpuff game during Male/Manual rivalry week. I decided to go with a couple of friends, and as we were walking in, we saw Davis and a few of his friends as they were getting out of practice. We all decided to go to Qdoba before the powderpuff game started. We had never really talked before, but knew of each other. Once we got back, we all sat in the stands and Davis and I talked for hours. A few weeks go by, Davis and I randomly started playing Words with Friends. After way too many rounds, I finally had the courage to give him my number since he clearly wasn't going to ask ;) Not too long after that, everyone started talking about Junior prom, and I was hoping he would ask me to go with him. After a night of hanging out with friends, Davis walked down the stairs with a poster that said, "Do you want to be my...prom date?" A week later, Davis finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward 6 years later and he is now going to be my husband. I'm so excited to be marrying my high school sweetheart! - Madison
I began searching for rings to propose to Madison a couple of months before our anniversary, and finally found the one that was just right. I ordered the ring and, of course, the manufacturer shut down for a week and let me know the ring wouldn't be in until two weeks after our anniversary. I went ahead and made reservations at the Kentucky Castle for dinner, just thinking if the ring didn't come in we could still have a nice dinner. Luckily for me, after many phone calls I finally got an email saying the ring was here. I had yet to tell Madison where we were going for dinner, so as we turned into The Castle, Madison got really excited. We were seated in the restaurant and ordered off their fancy menu that we didn't really understand. The whole time we were eating, I had the ring box in my sock hoping that my pants leg would hide it just enough to not be noticed. We ate our delicious food, and were ready to leave as I was still trying to play it cool like a regular date. We started to make our way out of the restaurant to the courtyard where I planned to propose. Knowing Madison, we were not going to be able to get out of there without her asking to get a picture. So, I walked straight to the front of the water fountain hoping she wouldn't try to drag someone over to get our picture. I saw the photographer that I had hired to capture the moment hiding behind a car, and I turned to Madison ready to pop the question. Madison noticed the photographer, and grabbed her phone to tell me that we can "get this girl to take our picture." I didn't know what to say, so I just grabbed her phone out of her hands and started talking. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me, and she said yes! Surprisingly, it all worked out and she was very excited. After taking several more photos, we met up with family and friends at a local brewery, which was another pleasant surprise for Madison. It was a great day, and one we will never forget. - Davis
