Things To Do

Lakewood Park

Lakewood Park

14532 Lake Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107

We often take walks at Lakewood Park, where we also do our shorter runs for triathlon training. The peaceful water and serene setting make it a perfect spot to relax. There are also lovely chair swings with a view of the lake, as well as the solstice steps, where we enjoy hanging out and soaking in the scenery.

Rocky River Reservation

Rocky River Reservation

Valley Parkway, North Olmsted, OH 44070

In high school we would go for walks here, and now we train for the bike and run legs of triathlons here. The fall is an especially pretty time to visit Cleveland and we will be getting married right around peak foliage. We recommend walking through the valley or at least taking a drive through to truly see the beauty of a Cleveland fall.

Rising Star Coffee Roasters

13368 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, OH 44107

This is our favorite coffee shop in Cleveland. We recommend their vanilla latte with almond milk and during October they should have a seasonal drink called the sarsaparilla cowboy (it has root beer in it!) that we recommend as well. We love buying new types of beans here so we can enjoy Rising Star's coffee outside of our weekly weekend visit to Rising Star. There is another location in Ohio City and we would recommend that one if you want to see an old firehouse that was converted into a coffee shop.

Avo Modern Mexican

2058 West 25th Street, Cleveland, OH 44113

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Cleveland. Maddie's recommendation: the Colorado bowl for an entrée and a pineapple margarita for a drink, David's recommendation: Chipotle chorizo quesadilla for an entrée and a spicy margarita for a drink

Mitchell's Ice Cream (Ohio City Kitchen & Shop)

Mitchell's Ice Cream (Ohio City Kitchen & Shop)

1867 West 25th Street, Cleveland, OH 44113

This is our favorite ice cream! We put down the location in Ohio City which is where all the ice cream is made for all of their locations throughout Cleveland. Maddie's recommendation is a taster's duo with caramel fudge brownie and cookie dough and David's recommendation is a milkshake with coffee chocolate chunk ice cream and chocolate sauce.

Pins Mechanical Co.

Pins Mechanical Co.

1880 West 25th Street, Cleveland, OH 44113

This is a fun bar with games including free pin ball, duck pin bowling (about $6 pp per game), and many other games. This is located in a cool area of Ohio City so there are a bunch of restaurants and bars close by.
