They met on the first day of 6th grade at St. Theodore School and didn't think much of it. They spent 6th through 8th grade as classmates and friends, but went their separate ways in high school.
Sophomore year of high school, Colin offered to get Madi into his homecoming dance as a guest so she could spend time with a girlfriend of hers. Madi thought for sure she wouldn't see him past sign in, but Colin never left her side. A week later, Madi finally said yes to starting on the journey of a lifetime with Colin.
Colin and Madi had been discussing plans to have his entire family and some friends over for sand volleyball in the backyard at the Schulz house. They finally found a Friday evening that worked well for their large families. Madi got home from work that afternoon and finished preparing for the gathering. Once everyone arrived, they ate dinner and began to play volleyball. Colin had planned to be on Madi's team and standing behind her so he could get down on one knee. One of his best friends hit the ball over their heads on the other side of the net. When Madi turned around laughing, she saw her best friend down on one knee smiling. Of course she said yes! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
Colin and Madi decided to go through with saying “I do” on this day! It was a beautiful wedding ceremony followed by a small celebration. Now they would love nothing more than to celebrate with all who have impacted their lives so greatly!
