Colby and I met in CVICU at St. Vincent Infirmary in 2018, where he was a nurse and I was a patient care tech while completing nursing school. We both talked about going to nurse anesthesia school during that short period of time, but never talked about much more because Colby was the quiet type if he didn't really know you. I told my closest friends about this "realllllly cute guy at work who is also wanting to go to CRNA school." They could never remember his name so, to them, he became known as the "CRNA guy" lol. Not long after I started working there, he left for school and I didn't hear from him again until April 2019. He reached out asking me on a date during his short break from school. Thankfully, I had reached out on instagram for his number while he was still working at St. Vincent ;) Since that date, we have spent our whole relationship with one of us being in CRNA school -- talk about a stressful 5 years. Many hours spent driving back and forth to see each other while long distance, FaceTime calls, and spending our time together helping each other study. Colby graduated in 2021 and I recently graduated in 2024 and we are now school-free (forever) and loving life! We both knew we wanted to have successful careers prior to settling down and building a life together and that is one of the many things I love about Colby -- he is so responsible, thoughtful, and understanding of needs. When it came to the engagement, he planned everything himself and even custom-built the ring. In December of 2023, he took us out to eat at Ruth's Chris with some of our good friends, and unbeknown to me, they were in our neighborhood watching us leave the house so that they could set everything up for our return home. They even left the dinner early to finish setting up and I was just so baffled on why they needed to leave early after arriving late! It turned out to be the best night of my life!
