Best Day Ever!

The year was 2011, the place was Corning High School in a freshman geography class. Cody and I would bring one another the occasional Red Bull or bag of Hot Cheetos, expressing our mutual crush the only way we knew how at the time. We lost touch after Cody and his family moved to Florida in 2012, but thankfully fate has a way of bringing people back to one another. While briefly living in Hawaii with my grandparents in 2017, I couldn't help but find myself thinking of Cody, how he was doing, and just how long it had been since we last spoke. His ears must have been burning because not even 24 hours later, I received a message from him asking those same questions I had circling in my mind. One conversation was all it took for me to book a one-way ticket back home to start dating the love of my life.
