We met through our sisters, my future bridesmaids, at town center mall. We didn't talk much until we were both leaving. He then asked for my number and a month later we went on our first date.
We scheduled to have our photos taken before Carter would leave for boot camp. During the shoot, he dropped down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Our families had been conveniently hiding down the road during the photos. We finished out the photos with shots of the family and me showing off my new ring.
From the time Carter left for the Marines, there had not been a second I hadn't missed him. Over the course of boot camp we exchange almost 100 letters in total. It took 7 months for us to see each other again but it was worth every second. At first, we were nervous. The kind of nervous you feel on a first date. But that quickly change as soon as we kissed each other for the first time. We got to experience our first kiss all over again. 7 months seemed to have flown by and we simply picked back up where we lefted off.
