How We Met

October 2018

We met while working for the same company. We had seen each other in the passing, but never spoke, till one night Bryant walked in the office and asked for a coffee cup. A conversation sparked which resulted in his coffee cup staying empty and the beginning of our lives together.

How we got Engaged

08/03/2019

My mom called me on a Sunday and asked if Bryant and I would like to come to the beach with the rest of the family to celebrate their wedding anniversary. We both said of course we will be there! She also told us to bring nice clothes that we would be taking family pictures and going to a nice restaurant for dinner. I still was oblivious and didn't think this would be when and where Bryant would propose. Saturday, we spent the day on the beach with not a care in the world. It was simply so relaxing, and our family just spent quality time with each other. We headed back to the beach house to get ready for "family pictures" and dinner. As we were getting ready it started to storm and I made the joke that we weren't going to take family pictures. Boy did I get some interesting facial expressions from everyone after I had made that comment! I still didn't read much into it though. I went about getting ready and the storm passed, leaving the sky beautiful with a rainbow shining with all it’s colors. We made our way to the beach and started to take different photos. While my sister and I were posing for a picture, Bryant snuck up behind us and touched my shoulder. This made me turn around and, in that moment, I thought, Oh, he is actually going to propose! He bent down and simply asked if I would marry him. I said Yes! The excitement is hard to miss in both of our faces. The love we have for each other is undeniable. As we were just soaking up every feeling in the moment my mind drifted back to the rainbow that was still shining brightly in the sky. It reminded me of Genesis 9:8-16, which reminds us when a rainbow appears it signifies the covenant between God and all living creatures on earth that He would not flood the earth again for future generations. This was a sweet reminder that He will always keep His word and always be there to provide in the highs or lows as Bryant and I start this journey together.
