The wedding will be hosted in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City sits on Missouri's western edge, straddling the border with Kansas. The two cities remain two separately incorporated entities but together are a part of the Kansas City Metropolitan area. In Summary: - KCMO = YES - KCK = NO, NOT THIS TRIP
Brian was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri (okay, technically Independence..) and Madison was excited to create an experience for their guests in a place many of them had never been to before. Kansas City has a special grit and unassuming charm that really sticks with you and we felt it was the perfect place to celebrate with the people closest to us.
We have arranged a hotel block on property at Hotel Kansas City where the reception will take place. It is important to us to have as many of our guests staying on property with us as possible. If you are planning to stay elsewhere, please let us know.
This is an adults only wedding with the exception of immediate nieces and nephews. We want our guests to be able to attend without additional responsibilities. Thanks for understanding!
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who were formally invited. We took extreme care in our guest list and are looking forward to hosting this handselected group.
Late September averages range from 75 to 95 degrees with humidity. Both the ceremony and the reception will offer air conditioning.
Warm-Up Night - Welcome Party | Casual but stylish The welcome party will take place in a dive bar but please remember there will be a photographer present. No sweatpants, no graphic tees, no hats. Wear something you would wear on a date and you feel cool in. Wedding | Formal or Black-Tie Optional Dresses should be tea or floor length - no short, white of any shade or gold dresses. Absolutely not! :)
The ceremony location (The Kansas City Public Library - Central Branch) is located a few blocks from Hotel Kansas City. The bride and groom will be walking in a true processional back to the hotel and invite their guests to join. If you have specific mobility needs and cannot walk the seven minutes back to the hotel, please let us know and we arrange accommodations.
