How We Met

January 2015

Everyone who has heard our story loves it as much as we do! We met at the gym on Drexel's campus. Madison was working as an attendant and Beau and innocent attendee. While Madison was on shift she saw this man not utilizing the equipment properly. She thought he looked cute but that could not distract her from what she was about to do. As her supervisor had noted, there was to be no misuse of equipment, so Madison marched right up to Beau, tapped him on the shoulder and scolded him saying he couldn't use the equipment like that. Baffled, Beau tried to explain why he was using that equipment but Madison wouldn't hear of it. She left it at that and then walked away. Beau had seemingly thought Madison knew who he was or recognized him, he was wrong. For the next hour, or how ever long Beau's workout took, Madison avoided eye contact and acted like he did not exist. Beau went to leave for the day, when he decided to turn back and introduce himself. Madison was immediately smitten. After the introductions were over and they parted ways, the universe decided that wasn't enough. As fate would have it, they both stumbled into the same commuter lounge on campus where they spent hours talking until their next class. Beau never asked for Madison's number but fate kept bringing them together until he finally asked her out that following May. And the rest, as they say, is history!

The Proposal

7.3.22

I knew Madison's grandparents loved Cape May and how the Cape May beach had a special place in her heart. I made it a plan to propose to her in front of her whole family on the beach during their family vacation. Madison and I had just finished our 2 hour ride down to Cape May. All of Madison's family was already on the beach and we decided to meet them before unpacking. I had originally planned to do it the following day, but I realized not everyone may want to go on the beach the next day. I told Madison some sunscreen had got into my eyes and it was giving me a headache. She gave me the keys to her car to get some medicine and I was able to grab the ring. Laci, Brynlee, and Audrey were digging a big hole in the sand and I said I would help them. After a few minutes I asked Madison to hand me my hat as an excuse to walk over to me so I could propose... she said no because she was relaxing after driving for 2 hours. After a few minutes of thinking of another excuse, I asked her to check out this cool "rock" that I had dug up. She initially gave me a weird look but eventually she walked over and I pulled out the ring with shaky hands (I was terrified of dropping it in the sand). With tear-filled eyes she shook her head yes before falling into the hole I had made. Clearly she had fallen for me all over again ;).
