We are so grateful for each and every one of you!
Madison and Alex met in person in Oklahoma City, OK on July 22nd, 2022 after talking for a few days on a dating app called Hinge. For their first date, they watched a musical theater performance of Come From Away (2021) while they ate pizza and then cappucino chunky chocolate ice cream for dessert. It was an instant connection. Later that evening, Madison sent Alex a text asking if he wanted to go to a local bookstore with her the next day. Alex knew at this moment Madison was his person. One week later on July 28th, Madison and Alex were watching Dawn of the Dead (1978) when Alex asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes. Halfway through August, Alex received a promotion at work and began with an new all international based team at Dell Technologies with teammates located all over the globe in places like Scotland, Australia, Panama, and South Africa. Madison continued focusing on her studies, internship, and work. Fast forward to the end of August, Alex was on his way to Paris and then England with his family for two weeks. He was worried that Madison would forget about him, while Madison was worried Alex would run off with a Parisian girl and never come back. Both were wrong. They talked every day about Alex's adventures from the Eiffel Tower to Stonehenge and about Madison's misadventures from getting COVID to breaking her foot by tripping off a curb within five days of Alex leaving the country. When Alex returned home, they were closer than ever. In November, Madison and Alex celebrated their 24th and 25th birthdays together on a road trip to Colorado. They spent the week driving through Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, visiting sites such as the Four Corners National Monument and Mesa Verde National Park. Just before the trip, Alex had welcomed a second tabby cat, named Manny, into his home. Manny had been hanging out around his apartment for a month and sitting in front of his door and he could no longer leave Manny to the streets. This made things complicated for life with another orange cat named Caesar and Madison's Mini Schnauzer named Shaggy who was always visiting. In late November, Madison finished up her thesis. And in early December, she graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a Master's of Science degree in Research and Marriage & Family Counseling. In early March 2023, Madison and Alex relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma with their pets as Madison looked to start her new job with a local counseling center while Alex continued to work remotely with his international team at Dell. In late May, Madison and Alex took a vacation to Austin, Texas where on May 22nd, 2023, Alex asked Madison to marry him. She said yes and they went to the beach at Port Aransas to relax and celebrate before making the big announcement. In July, Alex and Madison took a trip to Northwest Arkansas where they decided they would be getting married at the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. They also ate some really good sushi and Madison had her first butter burger from Culver’s. In August, Alex was selected by his supervisor to begin a three month quality lead (assistant manager) internship for his team. Meanwhile, Madison completed projects by presenting on intergenerational trauma to multiple members of the Burmese community in Tulsa, and LGBTQIA+ issues to her supervisors and coworkers. Madison and Alex are vigorously wedding planning and are tremendously excited for their big day and to spend the rest of their lives together.
Madison and Alex were married on May 25th, 2024 in front of their family and friends. They are thankful to all of those who made time to spend the day with them.
