We met when Alex was in New Jersey for work, I was going to school in Manhattan. A week after messaging each other, we met at the World Trade Center to walk to our first date, dinner at Westville in the Financial District. We continued to go on dates and hangout and now 4 years later, here we are. Since meeting, we've traveled together, moved many times, and have adopted our little best friend, Olive.
After work on a Friday, we planned a date night doing all our favorite things. We started by driving to a scenic town in upstate Washington to shop at all our favorite thrift stores. We then drove to Fairhaven, a little costal town about 20 minutes away from where we were shopping. We grabbed dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Jalapenos and spent the afternoon practicing our Spanish to each other (very quietly because we’re both bad at it). Alex then suggested we check out this scenic lookout nearby called Clark's Point. After a short drive, we walked through the woods to get to a beautiful cliff overlooking the setting sun. Alex said he wanted to take pictures of the sunset with his drone and ran back to the car and get it. Alex came back with his drone and was flying it around as I sat on the rocks by the ocean. Eventually, I got up and he was standing there and suspiciously asked me to come towards him. He then dropped on a knee and asked the question. After the ring was on and I said yes, my first remark was "OMG can I call my mom?"
