From Hinge to Hitched

Alex and I met in the most basic way...a dating app called Hinge (we aren't ashamed!). Alex and I began messaging in October of 2018 and after a few days we exchanged phone numbers. It took Alex a few weeks to ask me out on a date; in his defense he put a lot of thought into the date! Alex planned for us to go to Painting with a Twist since I had never been before and had always wanted to go. For anyone who knows me, they know that my artistic ability is minimal but I still like to try and even after seeing my terrible painting skills Alex wanted to take me on another date. After a few more dates and constant communication Hinge was deleted from both of our phones (he deleted his Hinge profile before I did). On December 9th 2018 Alex officially asked me to be his girlfriend! As December passed into January I began to realize that Nashville and Murfreesboro weren't for me anymore. After a lot of thought I decided to move back home to Knoxville, TN once my lease was up in April of 2019. Alex visited Knoxville with me several times and after just 3 months of (officially) dating he showed me the ultimate sign of support and told me he had decided to move to Knoxville with me! Planning a move across a state can be stressful on any relationship, but it only brought us closer. Once we were settled into our new place we quickly realized we had made a great decision. Now we have another big event to plan and we can't wait to celebrate our wedding with you all!

The Proposal

Alex here! I am going to tell you guys about how I proposed. It started in September when Kellee (our Matron of honor) asked us if we wanted to go to a local farm and pumpkin patch in October. We, of course said yes, and as the time got closer I began thinking that this would be the perfect opportunity to propose to Madison. One day in October Madison and Kellee went shopping and I was able to go to Deep Well Farm and pumpkin patch to ask if I could do the proposal in their barn. When I got the okay from Deep Well, I contacted Madison’s moms, dad, and her out of town friends to see if they could be at the proposal. The plan was for me, Madison, Kellee, Matt (Kellee’s husband), Everlee (Kellee and Matt’s daughter) and Madison’s moms (Michelle and Wendy) to go to the pumpkin patch while Madison’s friends (DJ, Kyra, Henley, and Madison’s sister Amanda) set up the barn with candles, lights, and pictures I had gotten. We went to the pumpkin patch and we took pictures and picked out our pumpkins as I waited for the “We are ready” text from DJ. When I got the text, we took the hayride that the farm provides back, and Kellee asked Madison if she wanted to go check out the barn. Madison of course said yes. When we got to the barn it was locked; I had planned this with the owner so no one else could go inside. I went up to her (Madison didn't know this was the owner) and asked if we could go in the barn. As soon as the barn doors opened Madison saw everything; the letters, the candles and a bouquet of roses (thanks Michelle and Wendy!). It was a total surprised and Madison started crying! I walked her down the "aisle", made of the tea lights I had ordered, dropped down to one knee and asked Madison to marry me! After she said yes Amanda, DJ, Kyra and Henley all came out 1 by 1 and surprised her! Thank you to everyone who helped pull this off-I couldn't have done it without you!
