In February of 2022, I was working on the Telemetry unit one night at the hospital, and one of my coworkers called me to ask if I was single or looking to date anyone. This coworker was Thomas Lowery. Tom proceeded to ask me if I knew someone named "Aaron Butler", and I thought his name sounded familiar because ironically Aaron and I had originally met a year prior on a dating app called "Hinge". Of course nothing ever happened with that because it was really just a casual conversation, but it is just amazing to me how God works sometimes. Well, Aaron reached out to me after the conversation with Tom that night and we finally went on our first date on March 5. I was a little hesitant because I honestly wasn't fond of dating anyone at the time and I was mostly focused on work, myself and my fur baby Chloe (CoCo). However, during that first date, something "clicked" and I somehow knew this was going to be the man I was going to marry. After our first date we spent almost every day together, and we just enjoyed each other's company. The more I hung out with Aaron and the more I got to know him, I knew that I never wanted to be with anyone else. We were so smitten with one another! And our parents definitely knew before we did (LOL). March 15, 2022 Aaron officially asked me to be his girlfriend and we have been inseparable ever since. One night two years later, Aaron and I were in our home like any other night, and I was getting ready for bed. I walked out of our bathroom and Aaron was down on one knee holding a beautiful engagement ring. Immediately tears started flowing and I was speechless! The day I had been praying and waiting for had finally come, and I was going to marry my best friend. He told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, and I said YES! Aaron and I knew deep down that living together and living against God's will was just not the right way to continue to live our lives. Especially as Christians, we knew we needed to change the situation and knew what we needed to do to make it right. That next day, (7/26) we eloped and got married at the Robeson County courthouse. We were so tickled and happy, and it just felt "right". We, along with our families, decided to have an official ceremony and reception so that the rest of our family and friends could celebrate us and our marriage, and we are so excited for April 26th! We are so incredibly thankful for the time and resources our parents have invested in not only this wedding but in this beautiful season of our lives. They will never know how much we love and appreciate them for all they continue to do for us on a daily basis. We have the BEST tribe!
