Claire introduced Madison to Seth during the fall of 2017 in the cafeteria at Southern Adventist University. A year later, they became close friends. And after a 13 hour road trip to New York City with their best friends, Daniel and Erin, and a late night Walmart trip to pick up developed film, they started dating. In the spring of 2019, Seth graduated and Madison moved home to study speech language pathology at Loma Linda University. They then began a long distance relationship, traveling between Chattanooga, Tennessee and Redlands, California. The next three and a half years were made up of a least 79 boarding passes, summers spent in Tennessee, drives in the M3, Laguna beach trips, a 1,223 day Snapchat streak and counting, one too many blurry Facetime calls, and a lot of coffee dates.

In May of 2022, Seth made plans for a backpacking + mountain biking trip in Tennessee. Instead, he drove to the middle of nowhere, turned off his location, deleted all social media, drove to the airport, and got on a plane to California. On a gloomy afternoon in Laguna, veiled by salt air and ocean mist, Madison and McKenna met Skyelor and Natasha for a (fake) photoshoot. Seth surprised Madison on the beach and asked her to marry him. She said yes :’)
