Myles and I met the summer of 2019. My best friend, Anne Heaney (Dawson at the time) was dating my future best friend Chris Heaney, who happened to be from Pensacola, FL. They invited me down for a summer weekend to stay with Chris's family and meet some of his friends. I heard fun (and slightly insane) stories about Chris and his friends, and Myles had heard fabulous stories about me. Neither of us had any idea that 4 years later we would be getting married!
Fast forward a year... Chris and Anne are engaged! Myles and I spent a lot of time together during this year helping with the wedding, celebrating the Future Heaneys and becoming friends. Unfortunately at the time we lived 4 hours away from each other and we were both a little nervous to jump into anything with the distance. After a lot of will they, won't they...on the night of Anne and Chris's Wedding, October 17th, 2020, Mr. Chris (Chris's Dad) asked Myles, "What are you waiting for????" which prompted Myles to (finally) take the leap and kiss me!
Myles and I live together in a cute little house in Homewood, AL. It might be our favorite place in the whole world. Almost every Saturday morning we wake up and get coffee with my sister Mary and brother-in-law, Stewart at Dawn Patrol (the best latte in the world!). It has become a weekend tradition that I look forward to almost more than anything in the world. We sit, catch up, and let life slow down for a few hours. On Saturday February 11th, we set out to go to coffee like we usually do, except this time Mary had a "meeting" to go to for Engaged Wedding Library, a wonderful wedding company she works at part-time. Little did I know the "meeting" she had was setting up our house for Myles to propose!! After coffee we headed home and as I opened the door, I saw flowers and pictures decorating the living room, and a sign that read, Marry Me? Myles got down on one knee, and we know how that ended! It was the PERFECT morning, and exactly what I wanted. Sweet, simple, and genuine, the perfect combination, and what I believe Myles and I's relationship boils down to. I felt so unbelievably loved!
