With golf being Kirk's favorite hobby, we found it only fitting to get married in the mecca of golf in North Carolina. Pinehurst is home to nine golf courses, including the host site of the 2024 U.S. Open. Wedding guests will be able to reserve tee times at a slightly discounted rate. Guest can reserve a tee time at courses No. 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 60 days in advance of the wedding (July 12, 2022). Guests can reserve a tee time at course No. 2, No. 4 and the Cradle 30 days in advance (August 11, 2022). To book, call 1-800-487-4653, press option 3, and mention the Roberts/George wedding.
For guests looking to unwind a little before (or after!) a fun-filled evening, consider booking a treatment at the Spa at Pinehurst. Wedding guests will receive 20% off any 50-minute spa treatment, subject to availability. To book a treatment, call 877-209-9243 and mention the Roberts/George wedding.
We highly recommend exploring the downtown area of Pinehurst ahead of our wedding. Even though horses are Madison's biggest fear and you won't catch her near one, she can still appreciate the New-York-City-style horse-drawn carriage ride offered throughout the village. Grab lunch at Dugan's Pub or Drum & Quill, and explore some of the local shops while you're down there!
Visit the Pine Scone Cafe for a cup of coffee and a homemade scone. Pro tip: you can even buy the dough frozen to serve at your next family gathering. Note, for those staying at the Residence Inn, there is a second Pine Scone Cafe in Southern Pines that is closer to your hotel!
If you come in the night before the wedding, this is likely where you'll find the bride and groom-to-be. Serving barbecue, wine, craft beer & North-Carolina-made spirits, this local watering hole is the place to be on a weekend.
For history buffs, the Tufts Archives is a free exhibit located within the Givens Library. On display are original maps of Donald Ross’s courses, photos of The Village since 1895 and various artifacts from the founders of the Village. Visitors will also find James W. Tufts’ original marble and silver 19th century Soda Fountain machine and more than 125,000 historic images.
