In May 2024, Madisen was celebrating her 30th birthday with twelve of her best girlfriends, while Sam was there with his crew for his friend Greg’s bachelor party. Neither of us had any idea we’d both be in Tulum that weekend, but fate clearly had other plans. We first crossed paths at Bagatelle during one of those wild Tulum dinners with dancing on tables and swinging napkins. That’s when Madisen and her friends noticed a group of guys from New Jersey, led in by a groom holding a magnum of champagne. Later that night, we ended up at that groom's villa party that was straight out of a movie: QR codes at the door, fire-breathing dancers, mermaids in pools, tattoos, DJs, and endless champagne. It was there that Madisen and Sam first talked. By chance, they found each other again just as Madisen was about to jump into the pool. Sam made sure she was safe (in typical Sam fashion) and jumped in right after her. It was short, sweet, and then we went our separate ways without exchanging numbers. The next day, fate intervened again. At a beach club, Madisen spotted Sam in his signature fedora. This time, numbers were exchanged, a first kiss was shared, and the spark was undeniable. Still, we both thought a New York and Minnesota love story wasn’t realistic. But after one long conversation that night, it was clear we couldn’t stop talking. From then on, we texted nonstop, FaceTimed every night, and when Sam promised to take Madisen on a real date while he was in the NFL off-season, he did. On that very first date, he told her he wanted to give this a shot, no matter the distance. Just a week later, he was already introducing Madisen to his parents, Peter and Renée, who welcomed her with open arms. That summer was a whirlwind with New York weekends, Minnesota visits, Vikings training camp, and countless flights back and forth. Fast forward: Madisen became a fixture at Vikings games (fun fact, the only one they lost was the only one she missed). Our families met, we traveled, and in 2025, we shared unforgettable moments together: the Eagles’ Super Bowl run with the DeLuca family, birthday celebrations in Vegas, summer weekends in Montauk, and more. Then, on June 15, 2025, at one of Sam and Madisen's favorite places, the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, he led her down to a waterfall. She thought they were meeting friends, but instead, Sam got down on one knee. With the Arizona mountains behind them, Madisen said yes to forever. What started as a chance meeting in Tulum has turned into a once-in-a-lifetime love story. We can’t wait to begin the next chapter surrounded by all of you who mean the most!
