It was the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Game of games. Biggest rivalry this side of the Mississippi. The game was at Invesco Stadium at Mile High (Empower Field at Mile High). Madi was there with her best friend Brynn and a group of friends. During the game, they lost their group and decided to take two seats that they saw were open. Once in the seats, Brynn looked to her left and saw a strapping guy next to them that had a tattoo of Minnesota on his arm. Pretending that she was from Minnesota (North Dakota) they began to talk. Who would have guessed that this guy was the one and only Cameron. Since the Rams were CRUSHING the Buffs, sprits were high. Everyone was cheering and celebrating together. They all continued to talk during the game and Madi and Cameron hit it off right away. At first, Madi was annoyed by Cameron's knowledge of CSU's players but she just couldn't resist the charm of the well-fitting, white women's tennis visor on his head. Talking and cheering continued throughout the game until it turned to celebrating the Ram's historic win! At the end, Cameron (knowing he was out of his league) used a smooth move and asked Madi to text him when she got home safely...and she did! A week went by and they tried to connect, however, they both coached. Madi, volleyball and Cameron, football. It was tough to find a day. They were both about to give up when they FINALLY, found a date where they had an hour free. Cameron suggested they go meet at Mary's Mountains Cookies in downtown Fort Collins. Madi arrived 15 minutes late, but Cameron was wiser and arrived 20 minutes late. As she sat in suspense, Cameron finally arrived! They each got an ice cream cookie sandwich and decided to go walk around town. Standing on the corner of Mountain Ave and Howes St., it was clear, there was something special happening.
