The Wedding Website of Madilyn Laney and Abelardo Padilla

Rainwater Observatory and Planetarium

6810 Mississippi 413, French Camp, MS 39745

Silver Star Hotel & Casino

13541 Mississippi 16, Philadelphia, MS 39350

A little over an hour from the venue Pearl River resorts offers plenty of entertainment.

Mississippi River

Vicksburg, MS 39183

For guests driving to the venue, add a stop at the Mississippi Bridge. From the overlook you can glimpse a small piece of the Mississippi River, the longest river of North America, draining with its major tributaries an area of approximately 1.2 million square miles (3.1 million square km), or about one-eighth of the entire continent. The Mississippi River lies entirely within the United States. Rising in Lake Itasca in Minnesota, it flows almost due south across the continental interior, collecting the waters of its major tributaries, the Missouri River (to the west) and the Ohio River (to the east), approximately halfway along its journey to the Gulf of Mexico through a vast delta southeast of New Orleans, a total distance of 2,340 miles (3,766 km) from its source. With its tributaries, the Mississippi drains all or part of 31 U.S. states and two provinces in Canada.

Natchez Trace Parkway

Jackson, Mississippi

If you are flying or driving to the wedding, in Jackson you can get on the Natchez Trace and it will take you straight to French Camp. It may not be the shortest route but definitely the prettiest. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the "Old Natchez Trace," a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, "Kaintucks," European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents.
