This is a long paved path that goes along the top of the Rimrocks and gives a beautiful view of Billings and the nearby Beartooths Mountains. Great option for an in-town early morning walk or run!
Red Lodge is a cute little town that is the gateway to the Beartooth Mountains. It's one of our favorite places and has plenty of fun things to offer! (Especially the rodeo and 4th of July parade)
This highway will take you from Red Lodge to the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It has the highest elevation for any highway in the lower 48 states and is an effortless way to get some dramatic mountain views. I highly recommend driving and stopping along the way to one of the multiple trailheads.
This is one of our favorite hikes in all of Montana. It has a steady slow slope and is great for beginning hikers. It will take you all the way to Cooke City, so turn around whenever you are done!
This is one of my favorite secret spots in Montana. It is a little bit off the beaten path, but it has to be one of the most unique spots in this state with Utah-like canyons and a wild horse reserve next door.
We love this and as small town Montana as you can get. Make your bets on the fastest piglet in this old saloon!
This is peak season for Montana rodeos. I know Red Lodge and Livingston has their rodeo on July 2, 3, & 4th. I know this is the weekend before, but if you are planning to come a little earlier and getting the real dose of Montana these are great options.
