Madi and Rob met at the University of Oklahoma (Boomer!) where they were in the same graduating class. In the same department. And ran in the same social circles. Yet, they could probably count on one hand the number of conversations they had back then. Fast forward to 2019 and they both end up in Los Angeles to pursue their dreams. A few parties allowed them to reconnect. Then one fateful day, Madi had a staff comp for her yoga class. Rob, never one to miss out on an opportunity for free stuff, took it. And then Madi made lunch for Rob afterwards. And they went to the movies (shoutout to "The Invisible Man"). And Rob, inspired, wrote a song for her. But... that's not when they started dating. Rob wanted to ask her out right then and there. But he was going to Europe in a couple days. No harm until waiting for after, right? Wrong. Turns out, in the middle of that trip, the world shut down with Covid. By the time Rob was able to get back to California, Madi had left to go back to Texas. Left with no other options, they resorted to talking on the phone. Thirty minutes led to an hour. One hour led to two. Phone calls turned into handwritten letters. And letters turned into an offer. Madi: What are the odds you want to drive my dog and me back to California? Rob: *sweats nervously* Yeah, their first date was a 3 day road trip. But there was nothing to sweat about (other than a 100 degree Sedona day). With just each other (and Benny) for company, they had the chance to connect and relate over background, upbringing, and showtunes. That sense of adventure has carried them since. From snorkeling, to skydiving, to traveling the world, their story has been nothing if not fun. And now, almost exactly 6 years to the day later, that's exactly what they want this weekend to be. A chance to adventure. A chance to celebrate love. And a chance to have an absolute blast. They are so excited for you to be joining them.
