This may be our favorite restaurant in town. Fun vibe, mix-matched plates, and good drinks, this place mixes items you wouldn't think would go together but end up being a taste explosion! The service is superior from our experience so we love this place and have had many a dinner date here.
Cool shops and places to eat
Madi's favorite shop in town, Room Service is a funky little spot with all kinds of cool clothes, jewelry, furniture, and chotchkies, doing it's share to Keep Austin Weird. There's also 4 more vintage shops, Breakaway Records, Monkey Wrench Books, and Epoch Coffeehouse. Not to mention great food and drink spots like Drink Well, Home Slice, and Foreign & Domestic (if you're a little adventurous) and it's all in the heart of central Austin.
This place in an Austin institution! "Live music & boot scootin', plus beer and chicken fried steak since 1964." They offer dance lessons 8-9pm Wed-Sat so you can learn to two-step proper before hitting the floor. If you're feeling a little more courageous, there's the popular hipster version of this place on the east side called The White Horse.
The Premier Outdoor Shopping Mall in Austin. Big Box stores, local boutiques, and tons of good restaurants, this place is always hoppin'. Go to Rock Rose Avenue for a mini-6th street feel or stay on Palm Ave and Century Oaks Terrace for some major strolling and shopping.
