We first met at Super Summer church camp at UMHB in 2016, when we were fourteen and quickly became good friends. Life, school, and growing up eventually pulled us in different directions, and we lost touch for a while. In 2022, everything changed during a late-night Target run in College Station. We ran into each other by chance, caught up, and realized it felt just as easy as it always had. Since then, we’ve been inseparable. Between us, we’ve graduated from Texas A&M University three times, moved back home to the Pineywoods, and built a life rooted in friendship, faith, and a lot of laughter. We’re thankful for God’s timing, the paths that crossed again, and the life we’re building together. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you.
Six months after moving home to Lufkin and putting down roots, Colby planned the most thoughtful proposal at the Gayla Mize Garden at SFA. As we walked through the prayer circle, he had placed photos and milestones from our three-year relationship along the path, each one telling a piece of our story in order. By the end of the walk, every expectation had been exceeded. It was intimate, intentional, and truly perfect. After the proposal and a photo session in the gardens, we celebrated with our closest friends and family over dinner at one of our favorite local spots, Auntie Pasta’s Italian Restaurant. It was a day full of love, gratitude, and the sweet reminder that God’s timing really is everything.
Since the proposal and a year of being back home in Lufkin, we’ve closed on our first house and spent the holiday season getting settled, starting new family traditions, and making it feel like ours. Between unpacking boxes and planning a wedding, we’re soaking up this season and getting ready for an exciting year ahead. We can’t wait to celebrate it all with you.
