Little did she know, an hour and a half apart was really short distance considering they later lived on opposite coasts for a year.

Chris surprised Madi by flying across the country on Christmas Eve and showing up at her parents' house at midnight (after Madi had already gotten ready for bed and put on PJs)!

COVID put a damper on things so Madi and Chris tied the knot via the mail. They separately filled out paperwork while Madi was Florida and Chris was in California, and sent it in to the great state of Alabama. Three weeks later, they found out that they were indeed married! Yes, this does make Chris a mail-order groom.
