Durango airport (DRO) or Albuquerque (ABQ). Durango airport only flies United and American Airlines, anything else will be both hard to schedule and expensive. Albuquerque is cheaper, but 3 hours from Durango by car.
What you feel comfortable in at formal occasions! This is not a black tie event. A nice dress, collared shirt, blouse, jumpsuit, vest, pants, or skirt are all appropriate. Keep in mind that the wedding will be on grass, so very pointy heels are probably not a great choice. Temperatures will likely be in the 70s or 80s. The UV index is high, so sunscreen is a must. Seriously. You will get sunburnt if you are traveling from Nebraska. Colorado is prone to afternoon thunderstorms in the summer, so a rain jacket or umbrella is also not a bad idea.
There are several hotel options in Durango, such as Comfort Inn and Suites to the historic Strater Hotel. The night of the 26th and 27th, Ande and I will be staying at Blue Lake Ranch, and we would be stoked if you joined us there.
For a bunch of reasons, including space and food considerations, we ask that only guests named on invitations attend.
As teachers, we have a little experience asking people to put their phones away. We are so honored that you are attending our wedding, and we hope for everyone to be present during the ceremony and reception. We appreciate that you may want to take pictures on your phone to remember the day by, but we ask that phones be put away during the ceremony, and for everyone to be conscious of their phone use at the reception. We have a professional photographer coming in to capture the day- we want you to enjoy the people around you without distractions :)
