Deer Isle
Otherwise known as "Stonington". About a 27 minute drive from Brooklin, Maine, where our wedding venue is located. It's a beautiful town to drive through with many opportunities to stop and take photographs. It offers amazing views of the ocean and is also home to many art galleries. Musician Dan Fogelberg and his wife Jean chose Deer Isle for their final home, and this is where he passed away in 2007. The town was incorporated in 1789, at which time it included the islands of Little Deer Isle, Deer Isle, and Isle au Haut. Deer were abundant on these islands, hence the name.
Pugnuts Ice Cream Shop
We came here the day we first visited The Lookout! The owner is nuts about pugs and makes ice cream that will blow your mind. It's about a 30 minute drive from our wedding venue.
Harriman Point Preserve
An easy and beautiful "hike" to the ocean. 11 minutes away from our wedding venue.
Blue Hill Wine Shop
Because who doesn't love/need wine??
Acadia National Park
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. It's about an hour and 4 minutes from our venue. But you will not regret visiting. We can promise you that.
Bar Harbor
Bar Harbor has more charm than you could ever imagine. While it's touristy and is likely to be bustling around the time of our wedding, we recommend making the trip up. Grab a lobster roll or shuck a lobster from a world renown restaurant in one of Maine's most famous towns. It's about 1 hr and 10 minutes from our wedding venue.
