We met on a blind date, via OkCupid, over 6 years ago. Being on and off the online dating scene for over 3 years, Madelyn messaged Tyler first . . . only 4 days after he made his profile!! To this day, Tyler thinks online dating is the best thing ever and must work like this for everyone! Our first date was at Roast Coffeehouse in Patchogue, Long Island which we picked for an easy out if we wanted to leave as soon as the coffee was poured. But then 3 hours passed while we chatted and laughed, and we couldn't believe it! Neither of us expected much from online dating, but here we are, 6 years later, planning our wedding!

A few weeks before Madelyn's 30th birthday, on April 24, 2021, Tyler told her to set aside an entire day for surprise 30th birthday festivities, to help her forget she was leaving her 20s. First, we drove down to the boardwalk at Long Beach, our favorite spot to stroll along the ocean coastline. Then, we filled our bellies with our favorite lobster rolls at Jordan Lobster Farm. After that, we ended up at Northport Harbor to watch the sunset on the water. While Madelyn was walking on the dock, she walked right past the photographer Tyler secretly stationed there to capture the upcoming moment . . . and when she turned around, she found Tyler on one knee! It was the best "birthday surprise" ever.
