Well, as Nick would say, we met at work and that was that. As Maddie would say, we worked in the same buildings as RAs. During the mandatory two weeks of training, we were in constant contact and making each other laugh from across the room. At the end of training, we hung out all the time. Feelings began to grow, and we admitted it to each other and made it official on September 10, 2018.

The weekend surrounding the proposal was designed and crafted to be the best weekend Maddie had ever had. It started with the 4th of July celebrations her family does in Showlow, AZ. The 4th is Maddie's favoritew holiday and was made extra special when Nick was able to participate. The day after, the lovebirds traveled to Flagstaff, where they had dinner at their favorite restaurant, Pato Thai, and went to a movie. The next day, they walked their dog, Newt, at their favorite park. They made a fancy dinner together and watched a movie at home. When getting married came up, he got down on his knee and proposed.
