Our story begins in the Spring of 2018 at the Vali-Hi Drive In Movie Theater. A date set up by a mutual friend, with neither of us knowing it would lead to our forever. (Thanks Megan!) Our love story is a classic one, going from high school to college sweethearts. We are forever grateful to have met so young because we had the opportunity to share many phases of our lives together. The years have gone by quick, but it also feels like we've known each other for a lifetime. Attending each others proms, moving away from home, finally turning 21, moving into our first apartment together, graduating college, and now starting a whole new chapter of our story. We are so excited to share this milestone with our friends and family, so thank you for celebrating with us! We would be remiss to not acknowledge the relationships we have looked up to as we have grown in our own, Shirley and Bill, Jean and Gary, Judith and Alan, Roger and Ruth, David and Kara, David and Renee. Thank you for your support and love throughout these years! Now for the juicy deets: The Engagement Story With our anniversary approaching, Kobe suggested throwing a party. He had been mentioning wanting to get together with friends and having the opportunity to host. Madelynn thought this was a great and funny idea because people would be celebrating our anniversary without knowing it. On March 8, 2025, with the "Just Because" party planned and ready to go, Madelynn and Kobe set out on their day time adventure. The original plan was to go to Color Me Mine for a pottery painting date, something Madelynn had been wanting to do for a long time. However, when we arrived we had discovered there were no time slots available. Thinking on his feet, Kobe decided to take Madelynn to Dave & Busters. While driving there, Kobe asked Madelynn if she wanted to stop at Jared's Jewelers to try on rings, Madelynn was sad about the change of plans and said "No, it will just make me more sad because I am never getting engaged". Little did she know, it was happening later that day. After playing games and having lunch, Kobe took Madelynn to the arboretum off of Dale St. This was the first place Kobe ever saw Madelynn while taking prom photos. (She was the mysterious girl from the other school -Kobe says as we write this). This is where he popped the question and she said yes!
