While we went to the same school from 7th grade through high school, our story didn’t really begin until senior year. First semester, we had a class together and sat at the same table. Maddie started going to several of Max’s hockey games, and by spring our friends had set us up to go to prom together. From prom through the summer, we kept hanging out and growing closer — but with both of us leaving for college, dating didn’t seem like the best idea. Max was headed to Loyola University Chicago, and Maddie was going to the University of Mississippi. Once we left, it quickly became clear how hard it was to be apart, and we officially started dating shortly after. The next several years were filled with long-distance visits, countless FaceTime calls, and summers packed with White Sox games and country concerts. We were always looking forward to the next time we’d see each other and knew the distance would be worth it when we could finally be together forever. After four years, the distance finally ended, and being together every day only deepened our love. Side by side as we began our adult lives, we shared countless moments, laughter, and adventures — always dreaming of the day we’d start on forever. A little over six years after that prom night, we returned to the place where we took our photos — this time for Max to propose. Now we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you!
